To become successful in the Internet marketing world, it is important to find a profitable niche. According to Merriam-Websters Online Dictionary a niche is described as a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted... a specialized market. This article will help give you some practical tips on how to find your own profitable niche.
Many people try to focus on the broad market. However, there are many people looking for a specialized website that caters to their needs that a broad website doesnt. When you find your niche and you offer products and services to that niche market, you can make a good living.
The online business world reflects the same trends as experienced in the offline world - often with faster turnover and startup rates. Those who promote a product or site that targets a small, select audience can tap into a market that is otherwise not being served.
Despite the limitations of the client base, the targeted nature of the business creates a devoted and active market - the aim of any business.
Finding a niche requires diligent research. Whether you have access to software that harvests and sorts information or you take a manual approach you must first start with ideas.
First brainstorm a list of businesses, products and industries. Create a list of keywords and phrases you think would be used by individuals looking for these items online.
Use a software program such as Wordtracker or a free resource such as the Overture Keyword Selector Tool to find keywords for your niche that have a high amount of traffic.
Although a program like Wordtracker makes it easy to find details such as how many sites compete for that market, you can also do your own research.
Concentrate your attention on question phrases such as how do I... or where can I... These questions will clue you into potential markets that need servicing.
Next, look in Google Answers. Type one of your keywords into the search area. What questions are being asked and how much are people willing to pay for answers If you find a group of keywords with a high number of questions then enter these words in your browsers search engine.
What sites come up Do they provide answers or solutions to the problem How are they making money Can you see an opportunity to service these individuals Look through the sites that provide the answers to these questions. What do you find
You can also look up key words or keyword phrases on Google and determine how many websites offer those key words. Look at those websites.
Go to Overture key word search and see how much people are willing to pay for the keywords in your niche. If people are not willing to pay for the keywords, but there are a lot of websites that have the keywords, that probably means that those people are not willing to spend money on the niche.
Also look to see if there are affiliate programs that offer products or services in the niche that you are researching. This will help you to determine whether people are willing to spend money in this niche. If they are not, look to another niche.
You want to find a niche that has a high cost for the keywords, but a low amount of sites listed in Google. This will help you to determine whether your particular niche is profitable.
Finding a niche can open the door to a profitable online business. Research the market and be certain that your product or service is valuable to this group. Find forums or groups that target this audience and pay close attention to their concerns.
Do your due diligence. Take the time to research and build a list of affiliate programs that cater towards that particular niche. It is also important that you are excited about this niche. That will make the research and marketing enjoyable. Keep working hard. God bless you. Jesus loves you.

So you decided to throw one of those virtual bashes to gain you prestige and prominence in your niche... and everyones being helpful and cooperative, how fantastic! Oh, except that one problem child, shes calling, shes emailing, she wants you to explain it all over again, she wants attention, she wants you to bend the rules for her... but whats she offering in exchange Nothing that you need or desire! Yes, theres always the Nellie Olsen of the bunch, tossing those curls, stamping those feet and cramping your style. Whats a busy online event planner to do
1. Lay the ground rules. Your event must have milestones, deadlines, submission processes, exemptions and disclaimers to SYOA, if you know what I mean. These are the laws that must be carefully laid out and woven into your ongoing campaign to ensure that a Naughty Nellie wont come along and trip you up when your guard is down. If you feel skittish about laying the laws, Ill give you my email address right now and you can call on me to get your copywriting protection against the Event Sabotager. Trust me, you will need it - dina/AT/wordfeeder.com.
2. Distance yourself. If youre always accessible during a vigorous event campaign, youll never get anything done. Is old Nellie problem-solving for you again, suggesting that if you go get outside help then you would have more time to cater to her endless needs This is nonsense, youre the Master Planner, and you must dodge the Nellster as nicely as you can. So, answer her question, post information where she can clearly see it, and then become unavailable.
3. Dont back down. If you give in to one self-absorbed person, next thing you know, the rest of the group will be clamoring their whataboutmes. (Well, hopefully your group has more class and style than this, but one never knows.) Dont cave to the pressure of a chronic demander whos asking you to give them special treatment, trying to bribe you with things you dont want, or manipulating the rules and attempting to force-feed you your own words so that they get their way in the end. Someone who is this persistent has likely done zero to support you. Theyre looking out for number one and thats no one you want on your side. Remember - if they dont get what they want now, they wont be back to ask you for more later. Hold your ground!
4. Highlight the good eggs. During the course of your event promotion, youll be public speaking to the group at certain points. Focus on the people who have pitched in with support, time, effort, creativity, connections, word-of-mouth marketing, assistance, and anything else that youd consider instrumental in making the event fly. Be sure to thank them graciously at every turn, because in comparison to Needy Nellie these people are a Godsend! Turn your attention on the good eggs, and that unpleasant vision of your tormenter getting the best of you will soon fade away.
5. Ask for cash. It doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out that Nellie the Needler has got a tight grip on those purse strings. So if she continues to prod you for special favors, give her a big smile and ask for payment. Youre an online marketer after all - there are no regulations or rules except the ones that you lay down for the projects that you own. As an online marketer, youve probably devoted a heap of nonbillable hours to this extravaganza anyway. There comes a point where if someone cant observe your deadlines or requirements and is making demands of your time you should just ask for payment. Either outcome of this will be desirable: Nellie actually pays you (a small miracle in itself), or the more likely scenario - she runs away to go pester someone else.
Yes, there will always be that one person who makes your life a living hell. Get away from them if you can. After all, youve got a major event to plan.
