Tonight I received a great offer, one I probablywill not accept.
Its an invitation to listen in on a teleconference.Between two well-known people. Something I couldpossibly benefit from... ** IF **
I dont know about you, but most teleconferencecalls Ive listened in on, not a lot, but enough, have never actually addressed what they claimed they were going to address.
Oh, as callers get settled in, they make theappearance to all and sundry that that IS whywe are all gathered together.
But, I cant be the only one thats noticed that9 times out of 10 (Im waiting for the 10th!),they never actually get around to SAYING, ormaybe DOING is a better word, what it is they invited us in for...!
Okay, some would say, Hey Theresa, be fair! And you are right, I need to be.
IF one listens very carefully, very, verycarefully, one MAY walk away with a kernel ofan idea... maybe. You wont really know howto fully implement it, but hey...
Besides, thats not the purpose to the calls.
Theres always some big thing lurking (I usethe word loosely) behind the scenes. That big thing they really want to talk about, and get you to buy.
I once listened, heaven help me, for an hourand a half to one very well known and one upand coming guru.
The teleconference was billed as a we will tellyou, all you have to do is call in type ofprogram.
Okay, I believe. I call. I listen.
Now, am I expecting too much to actually be TOLDat some point why Im spending the minutes onmy calling card (rechargeable phone cards at Sams Club, no other way to go for long distance without a commitment! *smile!*)
Honestly, even the offer that I just might beTHE BIG WINNER that night was not enough to,ultimately, keep me on the line.
Okay, I admit it. I did stick around (you didread an hour and a half!) hoping and waiting and wondering when THEY would actually sayeven the smallest of things to confirm myreal reason for being there in the first place.
I mean how many ways can a person say the same thing over and over and over And STILL avoidthe subject of the call And how stupid was I to hang around for more
DO NOT GET ME WRONG!
I am 100% FOR teleconferences. I am 100% FORteleconferences that actually DO what they claimbefore they grab huge portions of your eveningand your long distance ... for nothing.
AND NOW ITS YOUR TURN... DONT HOLD BACK! :)
Actually, Im hoping I DO hear back from anyonereading this who HAS HAD a good experience. Ideven be happy to do a follow up article givenenough input :)
But, in the meantime, until I DO hear positivethings, Ill probably keep Sams Club waiting.

While I can safely say that Im against excessiveinternet marketing interference, sometimes eventhe worst change can have a beneficial impact.
Theres a lot of information and outright scaretactics floating around the net about FTC rulesand regulations. Straight information is a greatthing - and my guess is we all can do withoutthe scare.
The FTC has been around a long, long time. Theymonitor media and advertisting affairs in the U.S.This agency does serve a purpose - to protectboth the seller and consumer from the scam artistsof the world.
Instead of picking on this system, Id like toconcentrate this article on why and how thisincreased interest in internet marketing willhave a good impact for the rest of us.
For years now Ive seen, and joined, outrightrip off programs on the net. Ive had my moneystolen right out from under me after performing,in good faith, the services I agreed to performupon joining.
These programs were set up for no other reasonthan to scam innocent people out of theirhard-earned cash and head for the hills.
Yes, I do write innocent on purpose.
Frankly, Im tired of people believing theycan make $14,000 by paying some total stranger$5. Get real!
Dont we all watch the news Arent these thefiller stories networks use - where the oldand not so old people have been scammed outof their life savings
Arent we warned, repeatedly, that if it soundstoo good to be true... it is!
And... Wouldnt the internet be the next perfect step for these same con artists.
I love marketing and advertising! I truly enjoyhelping others promote good, solid, profitablebusinesses. And, owning two co-ops and publishingmy own ezine Ive had, over the course of time, the unfortunate pleasure of watching people pour good money after bad.
I also am, unfortunately, of a mind that theschool of hard knocks does teach its pupilshard lessons.
If youre willing to believe some pie-in-the-skypromise of riches beyond your wildest imagination, especially by having to do NOTHING to make them, dont you deserve to be ripped off
Sorry, that was harsh :)
But true...
The internet provides a wide open territory forthose looking to make a good, honest living fromtheir home.
But, you have to be willing to make the effortto build a working model of that business, openit, promote it, and back it up.
To faciliate the demise of these programs, andto conform to FTC rules and regulations, Ienvision not just U.S. involvement, but world-wide unification to stamp them out.
We will all benefit when the pie-in-the-skyprograms disappear. Imagine finally receivingonly offers for legitimate ways to create wealth,to whatever degree, online!
