Alternative Strategy To Get An Alusive PR For Your Website?

Alternative Strategy To Get An Alusive PR For Your Website?

There is a common misconception about major search engines today, as well as getting listed in them. Engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN all have a system known as page rank. Page rank determines where, and if, your website is listed in their results. The PR of your site is determined by how many other sites link to it, the page rank of their sites, and the content of their pages (Whether or not it relates to your page/s).

The problem with this type of system is that it can take alot of capital to get listed in the top results in a search engine such as Google. Unless your website is a directory, having a thousand exchange links on your home page is just not feasable. It makes web pages confusing and a cluttered mess. All major search engines search for hidden text, so that will not work either. So what is a person to do

The best out of the big three search engines right now is MSN. Google is by far the most used, but in my opinion, it has gone down hill. The search results seem to be geared toward corporations and big business. Seach engines are suppose to help you find what you are looking for. In many instances, it becomes a chore to accomplish what the search engine is supposed to do for you. Sure I might find some interesting sites, but many times it is not what I was trying to find in the first place.

Ive sat down several times within th last few months and noticed that Google results were close to worthless, compared to their former selves. Unfortunatly for Yahoo, they are having their new search engine designed by Google. I think that is a bad move on their part. Like I said MSN is the best right now of the big three, however it is still plagued by corporations and big business.

I have searched the web and have came up with what I believe is the next best search engine of the future. It is called Warp Rocket Search engine located at www.warprocket.com It actually allows the most modest of websites to get listed for free. It has a 99.9% acceptance rate and the search results are fresher than ever.

I think it may be time to start considering some of these up and coming search engines for the time being. If they allow the smaller website owner to get listed easily and the search content is as good as big three, we should reward them by using their services.

Why reward the larger search engines for going down hill Why reward them for making it almost impossible to getting a website listed If they dont want to scratch my back, why should I scratch theirs.

Web Site Promotion - 7 Fast & Easy Tips

There are a lot of ways to promote your web site, all with varying degrees of effort or expense required on the part of the web site owner. In this article Im going to outline 7 proven methods of web site promotion that I use and that when implemented correctly are sure to generate traffic to your web site.

Tip 1:
Automate your search engine submissions and postings to online classified and free for all sites. Use time saving promotional software. Sometimes you can find this type of software free online by doing a search at Google.com If you have to purchase a program the small cost will be worth it, when you consider that you can have your web site address listed on hundreds of other sites with the push of a button.

Tip 2:
Submit your web site to the Dmoz.org Open Directory. This is a freebie that shouldnt be overlooked. Plenty of other sites scan the Dmoz directory and add its content to their own sites. Be sure to follow the submission guidelines exactly to increase your chances of getting listed. It will take some time to get listed here since the directory is human edited, so dont get impatient, if you keep resubmitting itll take even longer to get listed.

Tip 3:
Think links, links and more links! In a nutshell you want as many incoming links to your web site that you can get. You want to have a good amount of incoming links that dont require a link back. When it comes to trading links try to stick with sites that have a similar theme as your web site. Instead of just trading links you could offer to trade banner ads, half page ads or classified ads. Stay away from the search engine risky link popularity services. I tried one once only to see my web site disappear from my favorite search engine. Luckily the search engine accepted my apology and my promise to pull the link from my site.

Tip 4:
Write articles and submit them to article directories, article banks and any web sites that accept article submissions. If you have more money than time you might want to consider an article submission service or software. Now all you have to do is write the article, submit it once and the submission service will send it out to everyone in their, distribution list. When you write your article include your business information and web site address in the resource box, be sure to have list of keywords ready because many sites will have an area for you to add keywords.

Writing and submitting articles is a powerful web site promotion technique and a great traffic generator. This method also ties in very well with tip number 3 by providing many incoming links.

Tip 5:
Create a freebie and submit it to all the online directories that will list your particular item or service for free. There are free web site directories, general freebie directories, ebook directories, ezine directories and free article directories. Again this is a great way to get incoming links and free web site traffic all at no cost to you.

Tip 6:
Participate in forums and message boards. Sign-up and get involved, post answers that you know to other peoples questions, ask questions that you need answered. All the good forums will allow you to put a clickable link back to your web site in your signature file. The search engines will pick up your postings plus youll gain traffic to your site from visitors to the forum or message board.

Tip 7:
Submit a press release. This is easier to do than most people realize if you use an online press release service like prweb.com. They offer both a free and paid version, so money should not be an issue. Does it work Hows this, with my very first press release I received almost 70,000 reads in less than a week! Id call that a very successful first attempt at writing a press release and would have to conclude that yes, it does work and yes, it was worth a few hours of my time to write it.

There you go my tried and true 7 tips to web site promotion and traffic generation. Like I said earlier there are many ways to promote a site, some downright wrong, some OK, some good and some great, these 7 promotion tips are in the great file because they work, they worked yesterday, they worked today and theyll work tomorrow.
